Some people might say the looks is trash but it remind me of old Flash Games we had in the early 2000s on newground and such with those 2D few frames animation scuffed graphics and all
You could find some gem out there, maybe it was scuffed, and a lot of shit were there, including super controversial one, but we got freedom, and it was also free to play, use, put on your website...
The wild wild west.
Sure there were some trash points, but every gen come with its pro and cons, and I would take all these cons over the actual Corpo world.
And no it's not nostalgia speaking, I replayed Sims 1 and Jet Set Radio Future on xemu and I had more fun than on 99% than the games released the past years.

Anyway... Good memories...
At least back then I was innocent... or I still had hope. Or still had something...

Agreed.
There is a certain charm to these games which harken back to the old styles/graphics/presentation. The focus was more on gameplay and/or story conveyed, and to me thats the core of gaming.
